Celebrating Arkansas: Holiday Traditions,” an Arkansas PBS original series showcasing The Natural State’s culture and heritage, is set to premiere with its Fall episode Monday, Aug. 14, at 7 p.m., with an encore airing Thursday, Aug. 17 at 7 p.m.
Get ready for an August of premieres and finales as the month is jam-packed with great offerings.
“Grantchester”
Get ready for not one, but two heart-pounding episodes of “Grantchester” on Sunday, Aug. 6 to conclude season 8. First up, in episode 5 (premiering at 8 p.m.), Geordie is placed on desk duty as Elliot contrives to force Geordie to resign. The next murder case is handed to Larry, who struggles but wisely enlists the help of Miss Scott.

“Celebrating Arkansas: Holiday Traditions”
We’re excited to share that our original show “Mystery League” – a new 20-episode, live-action series to teach kids in kindergarten through second grades about friendship and community –will premiere this fall on the statewide public media network.
“Rise and Shine,” an extensive educational program designed to make summer learning fun and offer K-5 students an engaging way to maintain academic knowledge between school years, will kick off Tuesday, July 18, on Arkansas PBS.

Forty years? Really? Of “Arkansas Week”?
It took us by surprise, actually, that our broadcast is observing – might we be allowed to say “celebrating”? – its four decades on air. But the calendar doesn’t lie: Yes, four decades. Forty years. Could it be that Arkansas PBS’ flagship public affairs program has reached middle age?
February 18, 2023, marks the 40th anniversary of Arkansas PBS’s flagship public affairs program “Arkansas Week.” To get a better understanding of what the show was like in its early days, Arkansas PBS interviewed Tom Grimes, the series' first host. Read on as Grimes gives some insight into what it was like to produce a weekly public affairs television program back in 1983.
