Savor Arkansas: “Taste Buds” Serves Up Local Flavor and Stories This Spring

04 Feb 2026 in

Arkansas TV is serving up something delicious this spring with the premiere of its all-new, Arkansas-produced series “Taste Buds,” debuting in March. Hosted by actor and comedian Brett Ihler, the half-hour show takes viewers on a flavorful road trip across The Natural State, spotlighting beloved local restaurants and the people who bring them to life.

In the first episodes, Ihler digs into everything from the barbecue at Dixie Pig in Blytheville to the cozy charm of Mud Street Cafe in Eureka Springs, with a stop at Little Rock’s Star of India along the way.

At each destination, “Taste Buds” goes beyond the menu – pulling up a chair with restaurant owners, staff and locals to uncover the stories, traditions and personalities that turn great food into community staples.

Produced by Arkansas TV’s Emmy Award-winning crew, the series is part food tour and part people-first storytelling. Each episode is a statewide search for unforgettable flavors and friendly faces, celebrating the eateries Arkansans love most while capturing what makes them special. Whether it’s a secret family recipe or the neighborhood pride behind a signature dish, “Taste Buds” offers viewers a delicious way to experience Arkansas – one plate at a time.
