“From the Archives” series showcases state’s iconic outdoors

CONWAY, Ark. (Arkansas PBS) — Arkansas PBS looks back at original local productions in September, featuring the outdoors of the Natural State in our “From the Archives” series every Thursday at 7 p.m. These stories and more can be watched anytime on demand at watch.myarkansaspbs.org.

Beginning Thursday, Sept. 4, the schedule will include:

They’ve stood for centuries, surviving storms and shaping stories. “Champion Trees,” an Arkansas PBS original production, takes a powerful look at the state’s largest trees and the lives they touch.

The Arkansas PBS original production takes viewers on a virtual trip to classic barns that have long been a part of our culture, barns that reflect what it means to be a farmer and what a family farm is all about.

Bayou Bartholomew, the world’s longest bayou, holds significant historical importance in both Arkansas and Louisiana. The Arkansas PBS original production enlightens people about the bayou’s importance from a historical standpoint and a conservationist point of view.

Explore North America’s only diamond-bearing field, located in Murfreesboro, in the Arkansas PBS original production “Crater of Diamonds.” Learn the early history of the discovery of diamonds and the current mining controversies facing the state park.
