Arkansas PBS Foundation sets $75,000 goal with a record $150,000 to match donations 2-to-1

CONWAY, Ark. (Arkansas PBS) — Arkansas PBS will celebrate generosity this GivingTuesday, Dec. 2, by encouraging the gift of informative and inspirational programming for audiences statewide. To further the network’s commitment to Arkansas communities and Arkansas stories, helping children learn and grow, and inspiring programs that lift viewers up, Ambassadors Circle members have stepped up to provide a record $150,000 to match donations 2-to-1 on GivingTuesday, with a goal of $75,000 to be raised from new and current donors.

“GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement that encourages people to give back to their communities, making a genuine impact for the causes they care about most,” Foundation CEO Marge Betley said. “Every year at Arkansas PBS Foundation, our Ambassadors Circle members create a challenge fund to inspire others to support the educational, entertaining and inspiring programs that Arkansans depend on throughout the year.”

The public is encouraged to tune in to Arkansas PBS on the night of GivingTuesday for live updates toward the $75,000 goal, as well as special programming including local favorites “Indians, Outlaws, Marshals and the Hangin’ Judge” and “Exploring Arkansas From Above” beginning at 7 p.m. Anyone who donates from Nov. 28 to midnight Dec. 2 will have their contribution added to the GivingTuesday challenge total. Donations may be made at myarpbs.org/givingtuesday or by calling 800-662-2386.

Viewers are also encouraged to share what Arkansas PBS means to them by emailing membership@myarkansaspbs.org

Contributions to Arkansas PBS’s GivingTuesday campaign will help support:

  • Stories about the people, places and events that make life in The Natural State so remarkable.
  • A place for children to learn, not just be entertained.
  • A deeper look at issues and events from around our state.

Donors who give $5 or more per month ($60+ yearly) will receive the member-exclusive benefit of on-demand streaming through Arkansas PBS Passport. This extensive library features more than 400 local Arkansas PBS productions, as well as thousands of hours of additional series, films and specials.
