Event to feature PBS KIDS characters, family activities
CONWAY, Ark. (Arkansas PBS) — Arkansas PBS Family Day – a free public event that encourages community spirit through family-friendly fun, play and educational activities – will return to the Arkansas PBS headquarters in Conway, Saturday, Sept. 27, held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Families are encouraged to RSVP at myarpbs.org/events.
This year’s theme is “’K’ for Kindness,” and the events will feature PBS KIDS costume characters including Clifford the Big Red Dog, Curious George and Daniel Tiger from “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood,” free healthy snacks for children, hands-on kids’ activities, crafts and games, story time, giveaways and prizes.
Additional free activities and entertainment planned for the Conway event include:
- Arkansas Game and Fish Commission mobile aquarium.
- Interactive activities and demos from the Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance, Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission, Boys & Girls Club of Faulkner County, Conway Symphony Orchestra, Faulkner County Library, EAST Initiative, Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts, Faulkner County Imagination Library, Funk Fusion Dance, Girls on the Run, HorsePlay Hippotherapy and Therapeutic Riding, Literacy Action of Central Arkansas, Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, The Center for Exceptional Families, The Reform Alliance and Therapy Monkey.
- A first-aid station from Pafford EMS.
- Food donations for the Arkansas Foodbank.
- Face painting.
- Exploration of a firetruck with Conway Fire Department.
- Exploration of a police cruiser with Conway Police Department.
- Sidewalk chalk art time and bubbles.

Local food trucks at the Conway event including Fry Fry Crazy, Millie’s Fish & Shrimp and Las Delicias will be on hand for additional food and snacks for purchase.
