Arkansas PBS is honored to announce the Ozarks Public Television’s documentary “The Ozark Mountain Daredevils – Backstage” is airing Thursday, Nov. 13, at 7 p.m. The 90-minute film dives deep into the rich, five-decade journey of one of the Ozarks’s most beloved bands.

From their beginnings as what they fondly called “a ragtag collection of hippies, bohemians and musicians of no fixed ambition,” The Ozark Mountain Daredevils rose to international fame with hits like “If You Wanna Get to Heaven” and “Jackie Blue.”

Through concert footage, archival photos, candid interviews and music spanning eight studio albums, “Backstage” traces how a group of Springfield, Missouri, artists crafted their signature harmonies – often compared to The Beatles and The Eagles – and became one of the defining rock bands of the 1970s.
