A New Name for a More Local Future. More local stories. More local impact. More Arkansas than ever. Arkansas TV

For nearly 60 years, Arkansas’s only statewide public television network has worked to inform and inspire viewers like you through stories that educate and strengthen our communities.

We’re excited to announce that we have adopted a new name — Arkansas TV — and are renewing our commitment to more local programming.

Arkansas TV, formerly Arkansas PBS and AETN, reflects our focus on local storytelling, meaningful community partnerships and more opportunities to celebrate the people and places that make Arkansas extraordinary.

With any change, we expect there to be questions, and we want you, our valued viewers and supporters, to have all the information you need. If you have any questions beyond those below, please email communications@myarkansaspbs.org. Thank you for being part of our community. We appreciate the opportunity to share the story of Arkansas with you every day.

About Arkansas TV

  • Why did you change your name from Arkansas PBS to Arkansas TV?

We have a new vision focused on content made by Arkansans for Arkansans, and as we approached the start of our 60th year in service to the state, it was the perfect time to reimagine our brand identity to reflect the people, the places, and the purpose behind our brand.

  • Does the name change mean you will no longer be a PBS station?

Our current contract with PBS ends on June 30, 2026. You will begin seeing our name change to "Arkansas TV" over the next several months on TV, our website, social media, and email. There's a lot to update, so we ask you to please be patient as we work through this transition. We are targeting June 30, 2026, to be finished with all brand name updates.

  • Will your website URL and email addresses change? I still see "myarkansaspbs."

Yes. Our website URL will be changing to reflect our new name "Arkansas TV." Our email addresses will also change. Both of those changes will take some time but will be completed before June 30, 2026. There's nothing that you will need to change in how you contact us, as you will automatically be redirected to our new website URL and email addresses after they change.

  • Will I still be able to watch the Create channel and/or WORLD channel?

No. Both Create and WORLD require membership with PBS.

  • What shows will you air on Arkansas TV?

Through June 30, 2026, not much will change to the programming you see on our broadcast channel. Beginning July 1, 2026, we’re excited to bring you several new local shows as well as some of your favorites from the last 60 years and a selection of some of your favorite national programs. As we continue to work towards the vision of being Arkansas-first, you'll see even more new local content on our broadcast channel and the livestreams we bring you from across the state.

  • Will children's programming still be available?

Yes! We have award-winning children's programming that's been created locally over the last several years, and we're planning even more for the future!

  • What new local shows can we look forward to?

We've got a great lineup coming in 2026 with two children's series, two food-related series, two history series, and even more that are in the initial phases of development and fundraising!

  • Will I only be able to watch Arkansas TV on broadcast?

No. We also provide a live feed of our broadcast channel on our website at myarpbs.org/live and a library of our programs you can stream on-demand on our YouTube channel.

How to Watch PBS and PBS KIDS

  • How will I watch PBS shows?

Through June 30, 2026, there’s no change to how you watch PBS programming on-air or streaming. Beginning July 1, 2026, national PBS content will only be available via streaming from PBS.org, the PBS App and through Amazon Prime, Hulu Live, and YouTube TV. If you tune into our broadcast channel beginning July 1, 2026, you will find more local, Arkansas-first programs on the same channel you currently watch.

  • How will my children/grandchildren watch PBS KIDS?

Through June 30, 2026, there’s no change to how you watch PBS KIDS programming on-air or streaming. Beginning July 1, 2026, PBS KIDS programming will only be available via free streaming at pbskids.org and the PBS KIDS app.

  • How will I access PBS Passport?

Through June 30, 2026, if you’d like to continue to access PBS Passport and support your local station, your monthly gift of $5 or more, or annual gift of $60 or more, will still provide you with access to PBS Passport through Arkansas PBS. Beginning July 1, 2026, if you would like to continue accessing PBS Passport, you will need to become a member of one of the surrounding PBS stations such as WKNO in Memphis, Tennessee, OETA in Oklahoma, Ozarks Public Television in Springfield, Missouri, LPB in Louisiana, or MPB in Mississippi. Please note that PBS does not automatically transfer Passport memberships between stations.

Donors

  • Will the Foundation close?

No. The Arkansas TV Foundation is a vital part of our support, and there are currently no plans to close.

  • What happens to donations currently in the bank?

We hope that you’ve come to appreciate us as much as we appreciate you! With your continued support, we’ll be able to produce more local stories, more educational resources, and more community impact. If you prefer for your donation to only support PBS programming, you may select another PBS member station to support or donate directly to PBS national. In the event you want to discontinue financial support for your local public television station, Arkansas TV, please contact us to discuss your options. We're also looking to expand our number of corporate sponsors and underwriters as they see this new vision come to life. If you're interested in talking to someone about your individual membership, please email membership@myarkansaspbs.org or call 1-800-662-2386. • Can I still donate to my local public television station, now Arkansas TV?

Yes! We greatly appreciate our viewer and community support. It’s a vital part of the funding that keeps great local productions at the center of what we do – local documentaries like “Unveiled: Daisy Bates and Johnny Cash” and fan- favorites like “Exploring Arkansas” and “Dairy Bars.”

  • When donating to Arkansas TV, who do I make the check to?

Your check should be made out to ”Arkansas TV Foundation.”

  • I’m a Sustaining Member. Will my EFT or credit card require a change?

No. Your support of Arkansas TV and production of new local programs will not require you to do anything extra to continue your ongoing gift. • Will my membership stay current and renewal date stay the same?

Yes, your renewal date remains the same and your membership will stay current until your renewal date. If you make an annual gift (vs. a monthly recurring donation), you will be asked by the Arkansas TV Foundation, before your renewal date, if you’d like to continue your support for the mission of Arkansas TV and more local programs.
