Arkansas PBS invites willing youth to an exciting slam poetry camp, Say My Piece. During this week-long poetry immersion, aspiring poets will find a safe, positive outlet for voicing tension and conflict.
Say My Piece will also be led by Little Rock Central High teachers Stacey McAdoo, 2019 Arkansas Teacher of the Year, and LeRon McAdoo, the “Hip-hoptimist,” who together co-sponsor the Writeous, a youth artist collective. Representatives from the Writeous poets will also serve as “slambassadors,” modeling poetry and spoken-word techniques and tips.
Say My Piece is free and open to two youth age groups, ages 11-13 and 14-16. This individualized workshop intensive offers 20 available slots to be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
