Steel Rails in Arkansas

"Steel Rails in Arkansas," an original Arkansas PBS film that features train action in the Natural State. Arkansas has more than 2,700 miles of railroad track operated by 20 different railroads, making rail transportation an important part of the state's history, heritage and economy.

"Steel Rails" is a family film that explores everything railroad in Arkansas, including trains in action, restored railroad depots, train shows and miniature train layouts.

To learn more about railroading in Arkansas, visit a restored train depot in your area, or take a trip to the Arkansas Railroad Museum in Pine Bluff. To learn more about model railroads, visit a hobby shop, attend a train show, or find a railroad club near you. Rail fans and train photographers, please remember to stay away from railroad property unless you have permission.
