Examine the increasing rate of fraudulent activity in "AETN Public Affairs Special: Fighting Fraud & Scams" Monday, Dec. 16, at 7 p.m.
According to the Federal Trade Commission, the top scams in 2018 were impostor scams, debt collection and identity theft. Monetary losses have reached over $1 billion. This program will inform consumers about what is happening, how to spot and report scams, and resources available to help.
Panelists for the program will include: Seth Boffeli, advisor for AARP Fraud Prevention Program, Washington, D.C.; Kathleen Pursell, Arkansas Senior Medicare Patrol Program director; Deputy Attorney General Chuck Harder, Arkansas Attorney General's Office; Allison Bragg, assistant U.S. Attorney for the U.S. Attorney's Office Eastern District of Arkansas; Investigator Justin Kirk, Pulaski County Sheriff's Office; and Paul Ecker, U.S. Postal Inspector for the United States Postal Inspection Service, Fort Worth Division. Jason Pederson, ombudsman for the Arkansas Department of Human Services, will host.
