Reliving the Doolittle Raid with a Marine B-25 “ghost” plane, hiking to Rattlesnake Falls in the Ozark National Forest, visiting the historic town of Leslie, attending the World Championship Steak Cook-Off in Magnolia and mountain biking along the Pigeon Creek National Recreation Trail along the shores of Norfork Lake near Mountain Home – it’s all on the next brand new edition of “Exploring Arkansas,” Wednesday, July 5, at 6:30 p.m.

At the Arkansas Air & Military Museum at Drake Field in Fayetteville, one of the Commemorative Air Force’s special planes made a stopover visit: the only Marine B-25 in flying condition. In 1942, the historic Jimmy Doolittle Raid took place on Tokyo with 16 Marine B-25s.

Exploring Arkansas Rattlesnake Falls

Rattlesnake Falls takes quite a bit of an effort to get to. Located deep in the Ozark National Forest north of Mulberry, the trek involves maneuvering along dirt roads and, then, hiking the rest of the way. And what one crazy kayaker managed to accomplish here in 2000 was quite the feat in and of itself!

Exploring Arkansas Downtown Leslie

It’s one of Arkansas’s best-kept secrets: the town of Leslie in North Arkansas. What you’ll find in this small town of several hundred people is quite surprising – The Ozark Heritage Arts Center and Museum with a 400-seat theater and the only wood-fired brick oven in the Ozarks!

Exploring Arkansas Magnolia World Championship Steak Cook Off

Every May, the town of Magnolia in Southwest Arkansas gains global attention during the annual World Championship Steak Cook-Off!  An average of 3,000 rib-eyes are grilled for the top prize of $4,000 for the tastiest steak!

Exploring Arkansas Pigeon Creek National Recreation Trail

The Pigeon Creek National Recreation Trail along the shores of Norfork Lake makes for a wonderful outing whether you do it on a mountain bike or on foot.

Join us for these five great adventures on the next “Exploring Arkansas” Wednesday, July 5, at 6:30 p.m.!
