Snorkeling, wild caving and floating down the river!  Three fantastic ways to enjoy and explore Arkansas are coming up Monday, Nov. 4, at 6:30 p.m. during a brand new episode of “Exploring Arkansas.”

The rocky shoreline of Bull Shoals Lake in north Arkansas is a perfect location to enjoy all the snorkeling opportunities that are offered by Bull Shoals-White River State Park.  No experience is necessary and all the equipment, plus instruction, is provided by park interpreters. It’s an excellent way to explore the lake’s fish, rocks and plants first-hand.

Beckham Creek Cave House in the Ozarks near Parthenon was first featured on “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous.” It’s now a cave lodge that also offers wild caving.  We tagged along with a cave biologist from The Nature Conservancy who has uncovered some unknown cave species within its depths.

Speaking of The Nature Conservancy, that brings us to our final segment – the Strawberry River Preserve. We floated the river with several field biologists from the Conservancy. This river is unique in that it has one of the greatest concentrations of aquatic biodiversity in North America. The stream’s upper section has been designated as an Arkansas Natural and Scenic River. It’s also home to the Strawberry River Orangethroat Darter, and plenty of large and smallmouth bass!!
