From walking on water, to mountain biking, to mountain man trout fishing to taking a dip in not one but two refreshing swimmin’ holes – it’s a great way to explore the Natural State in a brand new episode of “Exploring Arkansas” on AETN!

Standup_Paddleboarding_007

Stand up paddle-boarding is one of the fastest-growing water sports around!  We joined up with an instructor at Beaver Lake in northwest Arkansas who gave us some introductory lessons and then we took off on our own, with our instructors creating a sixties-style bikini beach on the lake! It’s a Surfin’ Safari, “Exploring Arkansas” style!

Next, it’s on mountain bikes as we zoom down Miner’s Rock Trail at Lake Leatherwood near Eureka Springs. This trail is part of about a dozen or so trails around the lake that are perfect for all skill levels. Miner’s Rock outcropping alone is worth the trip here!

Mountain_Man_Trout_Fishing

Then, from mountain biking, we’ll take you to “Mountain Man” trout fishing – a nickname self-bestowed by David Mitchell – who’s been trout guiding on the Little Red at Heber Springs for most of his life. “Mountain Man” isn’t exactly your typical, ordinary, everyday fishing guide … not by a long shot, as you’ll find out.

Finally, for some cooling off frills and thrills – we’ll take you to Blanchard Springs Recreation Area north of Mountain View where two swimmin’ holes beckon your late summer relaxation adventure! So, don’t miss any of it on on AETN, and check for even more pics from these great trips on our Facebook page!
