Celebrate Labor Day with a new "Exploring Arkansas"

Flowers, butterflies, vineyards and zipping along on one of the top zip lines in North America is what we have for you during the brand new Labor Day episode of "Exploring Arkansas," Monday, Sept. 2 at 6:30 p.m.
The Botanical Garden of the Ozarks in Fayetteville is a real neat hidden gem that is well worth visiting. Not only will you experience nine themed gardens, but also the region’s only butterfly house – which in itself is worth the trip, even if you don’t walk around all the gardens. This place even has a “Keebler Elf” type tree house, plus a life-size recreated “eagles nest” you can walk up to and enter – both of which are a big hit with kids.
Arkansas’s wine country around Altus, is not some conjured up marketing term, but an officially designated American Viticultural Area – that is, a recognized grape-growing region of the U.S., much like California’s Nappa Valley. It all began in the 1870s when German-Swiss immigrants settled in the area and established their vineyards.
The “Iron Horse” at Horseshoe Canyon Ranch near Jasper happens to be the longest, highest and fastest zip line in the state at nearly a half mile long, 300 feet high and reaching speeds of more than 50 mph. “Get along little doggies,” takes on a whole new meaning at this dude ranch!
