Arkansans Ask: Foster Care
May is National Foster Care Month. In Arkansas alone, more than 4,641 children are in foster care, according to the Arkansas Department of Human Services Division of Children and Family Services. This program will focus on how the foster care system works, how to become a foster parent, adoption and training programs.
Panelists will include: Mischa Martin, director, Division of Children and Family Services, Arkansas Department of Human Services; Lauri Currier, executive director, The CALL; Sixth Judicial Circuit Judge Joyce Warren; Christie Erwin, executive director, Project Zero; Andrew Rowe, president, Youth Advisory Board; Eric Gilmore, executive director, Immerse Arkansas; and Casey and Felicia Stone, foster parents. Veteran journalist Steve Barnes will host.
