The AETN educator team read more than 200 stories from Arkansas’s young writers this year — resulting in many giggles, guffaws, gasps and “awws”! After much deliberation and judging for originality, creative expression, storytelling and integration of text and illustrations, we’re proud to announce the 2019 AETN PBS KIDS Writers Contest winners!
2019 winners include:
First place: Gunner Duck of Omaha for “Ninja Puppy.”
Second place: Barrett Friedman of North Little Rock for “Twister the Tornado.”
Third place: Allen Dong of Conway for “Cat & Dog’s Adventure.”
First place: Natalie Pearson of Paragould for “The Last Carrot.”
Second place: Gavin Dews of Hot Springs for “The Razorback Game.”
Third place: Holland Wall of Heber Springs for “The Mystery of the House.”
Second gradeFirst place: Sarah Felio of Conway for “A Queen, a Princess and a Dragon.”
Second place: Kyle Elkins of Berryville for “Mummy Love.”
Third place: Ariq Huq of Conway for “The Robot.”

Each winner will receive an AETN prize pack, and first place winners will receive a PBS KIDS Playtime Pad. We can’t wait to see what these outstanding authors accomplish in the future!
AETN is proud to coordinate the AETN PBS KIDS Writers Contest, an initiative designed to promote the advancement of children’s literacy skills through hands-on, active learning.
