Posted 06 Nov 2014
"The Jim Lindsey Story," a 30-minute film detailing the athletic and business successes of former Arkansas Razorbacks football player Jim Lindsey, will air on the Arkansas Educational Television Network (AETN) Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 6:30 p.m. and Wednesday, Nov. 19, at 6:30 p.m.
Lindsey, recognized as one of the most successful players in the history of Arkansas Razorbacks football, is an Arkansas native whose life serves as an example of a Southern success story. The star running back played as part of the Razorbacks' 1964 national championship winning team, went on to become captain of the Minnesota Vikings and capture the 1969 NFL title, and built a thriving real estate empire across the South.
"The Jim Lindsey Story" explores Lindsey's journey, beginning with his upbringing in the Arkansas Delta, and details how he used his talents and resources to seize victories both on and off of the field. Former Razorbacks teammate and Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones narrates the film.
The film also features interviews with College Football Hall of Fame coach Frank Broyles, former Arkansas Razorbacks head coach Ken Hatfield, former NFL players Fred Cox and Dave Osborn, and Professional Football Hall of Fame coach Bud Grant.
"The Jim Lindsey Story" is written and produced by University of Arkansas student Clint Fullen. Executive producers include Emmy Award winners and University of Arkansas professors Larry Foley and Dale Carpenter.
"The graduate students in our documentary film program continue to amaze us with the quality of their work," Carpenter said. "We are very proud of Clint Fullen and his film, 'The Jim Lindsey Story.'
"His film is a perfect example of what we encourage our students to strive for – a good story, well told."
