Guided by author and cemetery researcher Abby Burnett, Silent Storytellers, explores the cultural, artistic and personal stories cemeteries provide to the surrounding communities. Featuring cemeteries in 10 Arkansas counties including Boone, Crawford, Franklin, Hempstead, Johnson, Lawrence, Newton, Pulaski, Searcy and Sevier Silent Storytellers also provides information on proper tombstone cleaning and preservation techniques from Norton Fine Arts Conservation.
Filmed over two years, Silent Storytellers is co-produced by Hop Litzwire and Casey Sanders.
Silent Storytellers is funded, in part, by a grant from the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program, a division of the Arkansas Department of Heritage.
Following an opening reception and the screening, Adornetto, Litzwire, Sanders, Brandon and other cemetery preservationists will be on hand to discuss the documentary.
Silent Storytellers premieres on AETN Tuesday, March 11, at 6:30 p.m. and will repeat Saturday, March 13, at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, March 14, at noon. It will repeat on AETN-2 Sunday, March 21, at 6:30 a.m.
