For 28 years, "Night of the Proms" has been the hottest ticket in Europe. Wednesday, March 5, at 7 p.m., the Arkansas Educational Television Network (AETN) brings viewers the 60-minute broadcast special "Night of the Proms" with in-studio guests Jan Vereecke, John Miles and Robert Groslot.
"Night of the Proms" takes the audience on a journey through a rousing and familiar classical repertoire, timeless pop classics, sing-along tunes and get-up-and-dance music, all backed by spectacular sets, light shows and audio technology. The "Night of the Proms" orchestra, Il Novecento, conducted by Robert Groslot, along with a full choir and an Electric Band, led by John Miles, delights viewers with musical pieces from the past three centuries.
The special features Michael McDonald, Donna Summer, Seal, James Blunt, John Miles, comedic opera diva Natalie Choquette, Il Novecento Orchestra and Fine Fleur Choir, as well as 2014 triple Grammy-winner Nile Rodgers with CHIC and the Pointer Sisters.
Since 1985, more than 9 million visitors have attended the shows and witnessed countless unforgettable musical moments. Now, "Night of the Proms" is bringing their unique show to America, through this television special and their first-ever U.S. tour.
"Night of the Proms" will host one of four inaugural U.S. concerts at Verizon Arena in North Little Rock Friday, June 20. Tickets are available exclusively through the AETN Foundation. The concert features Michael McDonald, Kenny Loggins, The Pointer Sisters, Nile Rodgers & CHIC, the 54-piece Il Novecento orchestra and Fine Fleur choir, high energy Electric Band and NotP Backup Singers.
