New episode of 'Agri Arkansas' to premiere Dec. 28 on AETN

Posted 16 Dec 2014

"Agri Arkansas," a monthly series produced by the Arkansas Educational Television Network (AETN), will examine the Arkansas dairy industry, the recently legalized sale of raw milk in the state and the operations of Kent Walker, a Little Rock cheesemaker, on Sunday, Dec. 28, at 1 p.m.

Highlighting the broad, varied impact of the agricultural industry on Arkansas's economy, the December episode explores the decline of dairy farming in the Natural State and how the Arkansas dairy industry has adapted; where raw milk may be purchased locally and facts consumers should know before drinking it; and the operations of Little Rock based cheesemaker Kent Walker.

The episode will also feature a panel discussion with guests Butch Calhoun, secretary of the Arkansas Agriculture Department, and Fredric Simon, part owner of Simon Brothers Dairy, LLC. Former news anchor and veteran reporter Tony Brooks hosts.

"Agri Arkansas" is a celebration of agriculture in Arkansas, featuring experts, innovators and challenges all present in the state's largest industry. This monthly series dedicated to Arkansas's agricultural heritage airs on the last Sunday of each month at 1 p.m. Additional information is available at aetn.org/agriarkansas.

The series is funded, in part, by the Arkansas Department of Agriculture and the Moving Image Trust Fund.
