Posted 05 Nov 2013

"AETN Presents: On the Front Row With National Park Radio" will premiere on the Arkansas Educational Television Network (AETN) Friday, Nov. 15, at 6:30 p.m.

"AETN Presents: On the Front Row" is part of AETN Arts Fridays, featuring world-class arts and culture programming and locally produced series.

National Park Radio is a new, modern folk band born and based in the Ozark Mountains. An all-acoustic band featuring original songs, the group includes: Stefan Szabo, vocals, guitar, banjo; Kip Kibling, bass, vocals; Isaac Szabo, banjo, guitar; Jamie Stevens, guitar, vocals; and Micah Szabo, percussion, vocals. Their music is inspired by the beauty of their native landscape, as well as the joys and trials of life and love. Lead singer and songwriter Stefan Szabo composes lyrical poetry, and the melodies and vocal harmonies complete the group's unique performances.

"AETN Presents: On the Front Row With National Park Radio" repeats Sunday, Nov. 17, at 1 a.m. following "Austin City Limits."

Also airing Nov. 18 at 9 p.m. will be "Great Performances: Rodgers & Hammerstein's Oklahoma!" Retransferred from the original film print, the special encore telecast is presented for the first time in high definition. Hugh Jackman – who recently starred in the worldwide hit film version of "Les Misérables" – can be seen again in his breakout musical role as cowpoke Curly. "A triumphant, miraculously fresh-feeling production," wrote The New York Times of the groundbreaking 1943 work, now celebrating its 70th anniversary.
