CONWAY, Ark. (AETN) The Arkansas Educational Television Network (AETN) welcomes LinkAsia, a compelling television and digital news magazine produced by independent network Link TV, to its third digital channel AETN Plus (AETN-3) Saturdays at 5:30 p.m. beginning Aug. 4.
From Beijing to Tokyo, Seoul to New Delhi and beyond, LinkAsia offers viewers news and culture reports directly from Asia with unfiltered insights into one of the most diverse, fast-paced regions of the globe.
LinkAsia host Yul Kwon winner of Survivor: Cook Islands and host of the PBS series America Revealed guides viewers across Asia via its top news and information media, along with its social media platforms. The weekly, half-hour synthesis of culture, politics, technology and much more provides U.S. audiences with English-translated news that comes not only from Asian commercial and state-run TV networks and social media sites, but also from on-the-ground correspondents reporting from China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, India, Pakistan, Thailand and Malaysia.
The programs format sits at the intersection of culture, journalism and content official news content from state-run broadcasters, popular coverage by commercial television networks, and original reporting of user-generated information encompassing microblogs, citizen journalism and online polls. The programs list of news providers includes: CCTV (China), NHK (Japan), MBC (Korea), NDTV (India), VTV4 (Vietnam) and on-the-ground correspondents from citizen journalism organization Global Voices Online.
LinkAsia will repeat Sundays at midnight.
AETN Plus (AETN-3), which includes childrens series, instructional television and WORLD programming, is available to watch over the air using an antenna hooked up to a converter box or a digital television. However, it is at the discretion of cable and satellite companies whether they make these channels available to their subscribers.
