Kevin Kerby + Battery to perform free concert at AETN

Posted 14 Mar 2011

Kevin Kerby + Battery will perform a free concert at the Arkansas Educational Television Network (AETN) studios Thursday, March 24, at 7 p.m. for an upcoming episode of "AETN Presents: On the Front Row."

The public is invited to this free performance, which will be taped for broadcast at a later date. Anyone interested in being part of the audience is asked to R.S.V.P. at www.aetn.org/rsvp and arrive at the studio by 6:15 p.m. on March 24. AETN is located at 350 South Donaghey in Conway.

Kevin Kerby + Battery features entertaining, energetic rock 'n' roll and the honest songwriting style of lead singer, Kevin Kerby. The band often uses on-stage antics to help draw in the audience with a feeling of familiarity. Battery consists of Geoff Curran, guitars; Joshua Bentley, bass; and Marcus Lowe, drums and backup vocals.

Kerby's previous band Mulehead was a popular staple of the Central Arkansas independent music scene in the '90s and was featured in the 2007 documentary film "Towncraft" about the vibrant underground music movement during that period.

Kevin Kerby + Battery is signed to Little Rock-based Max Recordings.

“AETN Presents” features a variety of arts and cultural subjects. Previously included in the series have been the Arkansas Acoustic Festival; performances by the Cate Brothers, Trout Fishing in America, Dale Hawkins, Wayland Holyfield and Friends, Shannon Boshears Band and Epiphany; and “On the Same Page” with authors Buzz Bissinger, Billy Collins, John T. Edge and Kenneth L. Smith.
