Giovanni Antipolo will perform a free concert in the Arkansas Educational Television Network (AETN) studios Thursday, Oct. 2, at 7 p.m. for an upcoming episode of "AETN Presents: On the Front Row."
"Giovanni Antipolo – just 'Gio' to his fans – is an extraordinary musician and a real showman," AETN Executive Producer Carole Adornetto said. "Whether you are a piano aficionado or not, you will be thoroughly entertained."
The public is invited to this free concert, which will be taped for broadcast in November. Anyone interested in being part of the audience is asked to arrive at the studio by 6:30 p.m. AETN is located at 350 South Donaghey Avenue in Conway.
Giovanni Antipolo is a Little Rock native with an extensive background in piano performance. He graduated from Central High School and went on to graduate from Rice University with a degree in architecture and the University of Houston with a degree in piano performance. He is currently working toward his MBA at University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Included in his AETN performance will be excerpts from Sergei Rachmaninoff's "Piano Concerto No. 3" and Claude Debussy's "Clair de Lune."
In addition to his job as an accountant at Central Construction Group in Little Rock, Antipolo teaches piano, as well as volunteering to play piano at schools, nursing homes, churches and hospitals in an effort to generate interest in classical music He supports local nonprofit organizations by providing musical entertainment for various fundraising events, and his collaboration with members of the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra has solidified his place as an in-demand musician in the state of Arkansas.
"AETN Presents" features a variety of arts and cultural subjects. Previously included in the series have been the Arkansas Acoustic Festival; performances by the Cate Brothers, Wayland Holyfield and friends, Trout Fishing in America, Dale Hawkins, Isaac Alexander, Rodney Block & The Real Music Lovers, Shannon Boshears Band, The Salty Dogs and Epiphany; and "On the Same Page" with authors Buzz Bissinger, Billy Collins, John T. Edge and Kenneth L. Smith.
