The Arkansas Educational Television Network Commission will meet Tuesday, April 19, at 1:30 p.m. in the boardroom of the Donald W. Reynolds Community Services Center, 300 West Second Street, Pine Bluff.
This is an open meeting under the provisions of the Arkansas Freedom of Information Act, and the public is invited.
A public reception will follow from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the centers concourse with information on AETNs upcoming local documentary U.N.I.T.Y. and the national American Experience production Freedom Riders.
U.N.I.T.Y, a 60-minute documentary featuring a group of gang-affiliated inmates in an Arkansas maximum security prison reinventing themselves to reach beyond prison walls to keep teens from following the path to incarceration, will premiere on AETN Thursday, April 28, at 7 p.m.
Freedom Riders, a documentary about 436 Freedom Riders who took part in more than 60 rides between May and December of 1961, will premiere on AETN May 16a t 8 p.m. They had various points of origination and termination, but all Riders had the same goals: to test and challenge segregated travel facilities throughout the South and awaken the nations conscience to the reality and injustice of segregation.
