Flowers, Cox to discuss Supreme Court overturning
Roe v. Wade tonight on ‘Arkansas Week’ on Arkansas PBS
CONWAY, Ark. (Arkansas PBS) — Tonight on “Arkansas Week,” Rep. Vivian Flowers (D – Pine Bluff) and Jerry Cox, Family Council president, will discuss the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. This edition of “Arkansas Week” will air at 7:30 p.m. on Arkansas PBS and livestream at myarpbs.org/watch.
Roe v. Wade was a landmark decision of the U.S. Supreme Court in 1973, in which the Court ruled that the Constitution of the United States generally protects a pregnant woman's liberty to choose to have an abortion. Today, the Court overturned the Roe ruling, meaning that abortion rights will be rolled back in nearly half of the states immediately, including Arkansas, with more restrictions likely to follow.
Since the U.S. Supreme Court has overturned Roe v. Wade, Arkansas's trigger law will go into effect and ban abortions once certified.
Tonight’s edition of “Arkansas Week” is hosted by Christina Muñoz, co-owner and co-founder of Muñoz Pugh strategic marketing and communications firm and longtime KATV anchor.
