Dr. Mitchell Yass, creator of the Yass Method for diagnosing and treating chronic pain, will visit the Arkansas Educational Television Network (AETN) for the broadcast of 'The Pain Prescription With Dr. Mitchell Yass' Saturday, Aug. 8, at 4 p.m.
'The Pain Prescription' shows viewers why they no longer need to suffer from chronic pain and some of simple ways to resolve pain. Yass advocates for a new, non-invasive way to address chronic pain. In about 90 percent of chronic pain cases, the cause is actually a muscular weakness or imbalance – a condition that may be easily treated by the individual.
The Yass Method, developed through his work over 20 years with more than 10,000 patients, focuses on finding the true source of the pain and then using simple exercises to find lifelong relief. Yass looks at the most common areas where people experience pain; lays out simple tests that examine things like range of motion, walking patterns, and posture; and teaches viewers how to use this information to determine whether a pain is muscular or structural. If it is structural, patients can choose surgery knowing that the outcome will likely be good. But, if the pain is muscular, patients can use the step-by-step exercises and routines Yass offers to resolve the pain.
'The Pain Prescription' will repeat Monday, Aug. 10, at 8:30 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 16, at 11 a.m.
