AETN Presents: On the Front Row With Bonnie Montgomery and Montgomery Trucking will air on the Arkansas Educational Television Network (AETN) Friday, Dec. 1, at 6:30 p.m.
AETN Presents: On the Front Row is part of AETN Arts Fridays, featuring world-class arts and culture programming and locally produced series.
Arkansas native Bonnie Montgomery is a formally trained musician who mixes country, folk and opera. Montgomery Trucking blends guitar, kazoo and mandolin for an eclectic mix of music that has been described as a cross between country, hillbilly and folk.
Montgomery Trucking features Iowa native Cade Shera on mandolin, Australia native Justin McGoldrick on guitar, Little Rock native Jimmy Young on upright bass, and Aaron Baker and Holly Montgomery on back-up vocals.
The concert includes an excerpt from Montgomerys highly anticipated project Billy Blythe, a short-length opera set in 1950s Hot Springs about the culture and landscape of southern Arkansas that shaped the adolescence of former president Bill Clinton. The works name comes from Clintons birth name, which he changed at age 16.
Accompanying Montgomery Trucking for the Billy Blythe excerpts will be John Willis on piano.
AETN Presents: On the Front Row With Bonnie Montgomery and Montgomery Trucking will repeat Wednesday, Dec. 7, at 6:30 p.m.
Also airing Dec. 1 at 9 p.m. will be PBS Arts from New York Great Performances: Andrea Bocelli in Central Park. Recorded Sept. 15, beloved tenor Andrea Bocelli performs a free concert on Central Park's Great Lawn with the New York Philharmonic, conducted by its music director Alan Gilbert. Joining Bocelli on stage on this memorable night are Céline Dion, Tony Bennett, Chris Botti and David Foster. Sopranos Ana María Martínez and Pretty Yende, violinist Nicola Benedetti, bass baritone Bryn Terfel and flutist Andrea Griminelli are also part of the spectacular evening, along with the Westminster Symphonic Choir.
AETN Arts Fridays delivers world-class arts and culture programming to viewers.
