CONWAY, Ark. (Arkansas PBS) — “Blueberry’s Clubhouse: Camp Counselor Carol’s Fearful Phobia” will premiere on Arkansas PBS Friday, Aug. 6, at 9:07 a.m. as part of the “Rise and Shine” summer learning program. Produced in partnership with the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts, the Arkansas PBS original pre-K-2 children's program features Blueberry, a curious puppet guide, and her friends at Camp Onomatopoeia participating in fun, engaging and insightful summer activities across The Natural State.
“Blueberry’s Clubhouse” will air on AR PBS-1, livestream at myarpbs.org/watchlive and be available on demand at myarpbs.org/blueberry and youtube.com/arkansaspbs, as well as in the Engage Arkansas PBS app and PBS Video app. New episodes will air Fridays at 9:07 a.m. through Aug. 13.
In this episode, Blueberry learns about good health and facing fears when her grown-up friend Camp Counselor Carol has to go to the doctor. Carol is terrified of her medical visit, and Blueberry didn’t think that grown-ups got scared at all. Together, the whole gang learns lessons about being healthy, taking care of themselves and facing their fears.
To dig deeper together, Blueberry and viewers will:
- Say “Doctor, Give Me the News!” when they learn about a “Self Check-up,” making health choices and finding out what to expect on a doctor visit with Arkansas Children’s Hospital’s Dr. Emily Smith.
- Sound the “Germ Alarm!” and explore what’s the fuss about germs, why can they bad, when they can be helpful and how to stay safe with good handwashing habits with Mid America Science Museum’s Casey Wiley.
- Sing mömandpöp’s new song “A Little Bit Afraid.”
Families can bring the fun of Camp Onomatopoeia home with printable activities – including a “We Got the Beets” coloring sheet and Blueberry bookmark – at myarpbs.org/blueberry.
An encore of “Blueberry’s Clubhouse: Season 2” will air Fridays, Aug. 20-Sept. 10, at 10 a.m. each week.
“Blueberry’s Clubhouse: Season 2” was made possible, in part, by generous donations from June H. Williams of Little Rock and another special supporter to Arkansas PBS.
