Donations up to $20,000 matched dollar-for-dollar to further network’s
commitment to in-depth news, education, entertainment, community outreach
CONWAY, Ark. (Arkansas PBS) — Arkansas PBS will inspire generosity this GivingTuesday, Nov. 30, by encouraging the gift of insightful, educational, essential programming for audiences statewide. To further the network’s commitment to in-depth and timely reporting, helping children learn and grow, and inspirational programming that lifts viewers up, Arkansas PBS Ambassadors Circle members will match donations dollar-for-dollar – up to $20,000 – made to Arkansas PBS on GivingTuesday.
“In the fast pace of daily life, it’s important to recognize and value the things that we can absolutely rely upon,” Arkansas PBS Foundation CEO Marge Betley said. “Arkansans know they can turn to Arkansas PBS for trustworthy news, insightful conversation, thrilling discoveries and inspiring moments, from around the world and across our state.
“And, Arkansas PBS knows that it can turn to Arkansans for the generous support we need to keep this vital public service strong. Let’s move ahead, together, and ensure that Arkansas PBS stays strong for viewers and lifelong learners across The Natural State.”
The public is encouraged to tune in to Arkansas PBS throughout GivingTuesday for live updates toward the $20,000 goal. Anyone who donates between now and Nov. 30 can request that their contribution be added to the challenge total at the end of Giving Tuesday. Donations may be made at myarpbs.org/donate or by calling 800-662-2386.
Contributions to Arkansas PBS’s GivingTuesday campaign will help support:
· A safe place for children to learn, not just be entertained.
· A deeper look at issues and events from around the world and local communities.
· World travel from the comfort of home.
· Incredible drama, music, science, history and documentaries.
· Stories about the people, places and events that make life in The Natural State so remarkable.
Donors who give $5 or more per month ($60+ yearly) will received the member-exclusive benefit of on-demand streaming through Arkansas PBS Passport. GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement, unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and their world. GivingTuesday will kick off the generosity season this year by inspiring people to give back on Nov. 30 and throughout the year.
GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. GivingTuesday was born and incubated at the 92nd Street Y and its Belfer Center for Innovation & Social Impact in New York City. GivingTuesday is now an independent nonprofit and a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate and celebrate generosity.
