Posted 14 Feb 2019
The Arkansas Ethics Commission meeting will stream live on AR-CAN – the Arkansas Citizens Access Network, aetn.org/arcan – Friday, Feb. 15, at 9 a.m.
This is the first time the Ethics Commission meeting has been streamed for live viewing statewide.
The mission of the Arkansas Ethics Commission is to serve as the compliance and enforcement agency under Arkansas's standards of conduct and disclosure laws concerning candidates for public office, state and local public officials, lobbyists and committees, and individuals involved with initiatives, referenda and other matters referred to the voters.
The video of the meeting will be archived for approximately 30 days following the live event. A full schedule of events is available at aetn.org/arcan.
AR-CAN – the Arkansas Citizens Access Network – provides unprecedented access to state government, giving Arkansas citizens a front row seat to legislative proceedings, board and commission meetings, and other government hearings and activities. The website is dedicated to livestreaming Arkansas state government events and meetings and serves as an important educational tool, allowing students to see their government at work while learning about public affairs and civic responsibility. AR-CAN is presented by the Arkansas Educational Television Network.
The goal of AR-CAN is to provide as many livestreaming events as possible, allowing constituents to choose what to watch. For legislative hearings, the livestream is provided by the House of Representatives or Senate. Additionally, AR-CAN will host streaming for any other state agency, board or commission meeting if the stream is provided. A professional team with livestreaming equipment is available to attend meetings; however, due to limited resources, only those events deemed to have the most public interest will be covered. Suggestions for events to be livestreamed on AR-CAN are encouraged at aetn.org/arcan.
