AETN's 'On the Same Page' takes a look at zombies with Robin Becker just in time for Halloween

Posted 25 Oct 2010

Robin Becker will discuss her debut book, "Brains: A Zombie Memoir," as part of "AETN Presents: On the Same Page," on the Arkansas Educational Television Network (AETN) Wednesday, Oct. 27, at 6:30 p.m.

Host Tommy Sanders sits down with Becker for an interview that mixes serious literary discussion with pop culture, zombies and witty banter.

"Brains: A Zombie Memoir," features a kinder, gentler zombie named Jack Barnes, a former college professor who has retained his consciousness and wants to co-exist peacefully with humans. Convinced he can make a difference in the lives of zombies, Barnes and a band of ragtag flesh-eaters set out to find the man responsible for unleashing the "zombie virus" on the planet.

Becker, a New Jersey native and world traveler, received her MFA from LSU in Baton Rouge in 2000 and currently teaches writing at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway.

"AETN Presents: On the Same Page with Robin Becker" will repeat on Halloween at 10:30 p.m.

"AETN Presents: On the Same Page" features a variety of regional and national authors, such as McSweeny's writer Wells Tower, best-selling author Francine Prose, former U.S. Poet Laureates Billy Collins and Ted Kooser, Pulitzer Prize-nominated poet Jo McDougall, O Henry Award winner Kevin Brockmeier and young adult writer Trenton Lee Stewart.
