The Arkansas Educational Television Network (AETN) will feature the nation's only complete, live broadcast coverage of the 2012 national political conventions from “PBS NewsHour” beginning Tuesday, Aug. 29.

Coverage of the Republican National Convention will air Tuesday, Aug. 29, through Thursday, Sept. 2, at 6 nightly. The Democratic National Convention will air Tuesday, Sept. 4, through Thursday, Sept. 6, at 7 p.m. nightly.

“NewsHour” correspondent Hari Sreenivasan will extend the coverage online at pbs.org/newshour to offer viewers an “all access pass” to the conventions.

“‘PBS NewsHour's’ multi-platform approach will give the public the most up-close and engaging convention coverage available on air and online,” Paula Kerger, PBS President and CEO, said.

“With news that is trusted, in-depth and independent, our PBS Election 2012 coverage will provide the latest election information whenever and wherever consumers want it.”

Award-winning political journalists Judy Woodruff and Gwen Ifill will co-anchor the coverage, which includes in-depth interviews, analysis and discussion.
