Posted 13 Nov 2012

CONWAY, Ark. (AETN) — “AETN Presents: On the Front Row With Runaway Planet” will air Friday, Nov. 9, at 6:30 p.m. on the Arkansas Educational Television Network (AETN). The program will repeat Sunday, Nov. 11, at 1 a.m. following “Austin City Limits.”

Runaway Planet’s forward-thinking take on traditional bluegrass and roots music takes center stage in the band’s engaging performance at the AETN studios for this episode of “AETN Presents: On the Front Row.” Building on a foundation of one of America’s long-standing genres, Runaway Planet plays with a pop sensibility and rock-and-roll confidence while drawing on their extensive knowledge of 1970s-era progressive rock. Their standout show incorporates precision playing and vocal contributions from three of the four members. Runaway Planet includes longtime friends Greg Alexander, acoustic guitar; Steve Brauer, banjo; Michael Proveaux, upright bass; and Matthew Stone, mandolin.

“AETN Presents” features a variety of arts and cultural subjects. Previously included in the series have been the Arkansas Acoustic Festival; performances by the Cate Brothers, Wayland Holyfield and friends, Trout Fishing in America, Dale Hawkins, Shannon Boshears Band, The Salty Dogs and Epiphany; and “On the Same Page” with authors Buzz Bissinger, Billy Collins, John T. Edge and Kenneth L. Smith.

AETN Arts Fridays provides Arkansans with world-class arts and culture programming, including the locally produced series “AETN Presents” at 6:30 p.m. and PBS arts programming at 9 p.m. More information about “AETN Presents” and episode clips are available at aetn.org/aetnpresents.
