CONWAY, Ark. (AETN) — The Arkansas Educational Television Network (AETN) invites viewer questions for the live, call-in program “You’ve Earned a Say on Medicare and Social Security,” airing Thursday, July 12, at 7 p.m.

In Arkansas, 635,041 people receive Social Security benefits, and 536,817 receive Medicare benefits, according to AARP Arkansas. Arkansans have earned the coverage, benefits, protections and guarantees of Medicare and Social Security, and these programs will face a number of challenges in the coming years, including changing demographics and rising health costs. “You’ve Earned a Say” will allow viewers to participate in a conversation about protecting and strengthening these programs now and in the future.

Panelists include: Sarah Schultz-Lackey, Public Affairs Office of the Regional Commissioner, Social Security Administration; Ariel Gonzalez, director, Federal Health and Family Advocacy, AARP; Herb Sanderson, associate state director for Advocacy, AARP Arkansas; Melissa Simpson, director of SHIIP (Senior Health Insurance Information Program).

Pamela Smith hosts.

“You’ve Earned a Say on Medicare and Social Security” is underwritten by AARP Arkansas (www.aarp.org/states/ar).
