The Arkansas Educational Television Network (AETN) Foundation is currently offering exclusive tickets to Tommy Emmanuel’s performance Tuesday, Oct. 1, at 7:30 p.m. in the Reynolds Performance Hall at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway.
Considered one of the finest acoustic guitar players in the world, Australia native Emmanuel is a two-time Grammy Award nominee, has earned four Platinum and Gold albums, and was named “CMA Global Country Artist of the Year” in 2011. The legendary guitarist has a professional career that spans five decades and continues to intersect with many of the finest musicians throughout the world.
Emmanuel’s unique style, dubbed simply “finger style,” is akin to playing guitar in a manner similar to how a pianist plays piano, using all 10 fingers. Rather than using a full band for melody, rhythm, bass and drum pieces, Emmanuel plays every part on one guitar.
The Arkansas PBS Foundaion is the only outlet for Tommy Emmanuel tickets, which are $50 per person. Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis. Additional information and ticket reservation forms are available at aetnfoundation.org/boxoffice or by calling 1-800-662-2386.
This concert is a fundraiser for the Arkansas PBS Foundaion, and all proceeds will support programming on AETN, Arkansas's PBS affiliate and only statewide public service media network.
Fans may also enjoy watching “Tommy Emmanuel and Friends: Live From the Balboa Theatre” Tuesday, Aug. 6, at 8:30 p.m. on AETN. The program repeats Saturday, Aug. 10, at 10:30 a.m. Performance clips are also available at tommyemmanuel.tv.
