AETN Foundation brings renowned violinist David Garrett to Little Rock

Posted 19 Jan 2011

The AETN Foundation and Celebrity Attractions will present internationally renowned violinist David Garrett live in concert, Monday, Feb. 7, at 7:30 p.m. at Robinson Center Music Hall in Little Rock.

Garrett, a German violinist who plays everything from Vivaldi to Queen to Michael Jackson, weaves classical standards with rock and pop favorites for a thrilling performance reminiscent of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. He has gained legions of fans once again with his edgy blend of classical and rock music on his sophomore effort “Rock Symphonies” and smash public television special of the same name. “Rock Symphonies” debuted at No. 2 behind Sting and remained in the top 5 of Billboard’s Classical Crossover chart, peaking at No. 1, for 13 weeks.

On the heels of a very successful 2010, the internationally renowned violinist will perform on The Today Show Jan. 21 before kicking off his headlining U.S. tour in Seattle Feb. 1.

“Rock Symphonies” features new interpretations of Garrett’s favorite rock anthems by U2, Nirvana, Metallica and Aerosmith, to name a few. In concert the crowd can expect to hear his technically flawless violin playing shine through with precision and power backed by his explosive four-piece rock band.

In December, he landed on Billboard’s Boxscore Chart as one of the top grossing concert acts among Justin Bieber, The Eagles and Metallica.

This concert is a fundraiser for the AETN Foundation, and all proceeds will support programming on AETN, Arkansas's PBS affiliate and only statewide network.

Tickets range from $30 to $90 and are available on a first come, first served basis. Additional information and tickets are available at or 800-662-2386.
