AETN digital subchannels restored ahead of schedule

Posted 13 Nov 2012

CONWAY, Ark. (AETN) — The Arkansas Educational Television Network (AETN) is pleased to announce that AETN Create (AETN-2), AETN Plus/World (AETN-3) and the Arkansas Information Reading Service for the Blind (AIRS, AETN-4) audio channel returned to their normal broadcasts Thursday, Nov. 8.

AETN staff and crews finished relocating equipment used to send programming signals from the network headquarters in Conway to transmitters around the state ahead of their projected schedule because of clear weather.

AETN-1 (AETN-PBS) has also returned to its normal high definition broadcast, rather than its temporary standard definition transmission.

“We’re very happy to make our digital subchannels and high definition broadcasts available again ahead of schedule,” AETN Executive Director Allen Weatherly said. “We were fortunate to avoid any complications, and we’re grateful to our staff and the tower rigging crew for their excellent, efficient work.

“Moving this equipment from our current host site to a new permanent site will help us prevent similar interruptions in the future. We appreciate our viewers’ patience during the outage and are proud to have AETN Create, AETN Plus/World and AIRS back on air.”

Any viewer still experiencing reception problems is encouraged to follow trouble-shooting tips available at aetn.org/dtv or contact AETN viewer services at info@myarkansaspbs.org or 800-662-2386.
