Posted 05 Sep 2013
The Arkansas Educational Television Network (AETN) is currently accepting recipe submissions for possible publication in a new cookbook to accompany the network's "Cooking on the Wild Side" series.
Viewers are invited to submit their fish, venison, side dish, soup, chili or dessert recipes to be considered for inclusion in the cookbook. Recipes will be accepted until Friday, Sept. 20, at aetn.org/cookingonthewildside. Recipes will only be accepted through the online submission form. The cookbook will be available for purchase in December.
"Cooking on the Wild Side" features classic segments of Phyllis Speer and John Philpot making mouth-watering recipes from the original “Arkansas Outdoors” series. Each episode of this refreshed, cooking-only series features three recipes and endearing banter with this unforgettable pair.
On the first Tuesday of each month, viewers can revisit some of Speer's best loved dishes from over the years, including such favorites as Venison Pizza Casserole, Mary's Very Berry Blueberry Pie, Grilled Turkey Kabobs, Corn Loaf, Campfire Roasted Potatoes, Freezer Slaw, Crawfish Stuffed Mushrooms and many others. The recipes are available on aetn.org, and episodes can be purchased on DVD.
