Hello all... and welcome to Arkansas PBS Engage, a spot on the web that we hope will help us get better connected with the amazingly diverse communities and Arkansas PBS fans across Arkansas. We hope you'll take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about Arkansas PBS's programs, services and special events but more importantly, that you'll share with us your ideas, comments, concerns and questions about anything we're doing here at your public television network.
I'm Dan Koops, an outreach producer and 22-year veteran here at Arkansas PBS, a job that is always challenging and at times extremely rewarding. And although we all wear lots of hats here, one of my main responsibilities is to develop and work with community partners and Arkansas PBS/PBS content producers to extend the reach and scope of the our broadcast offerings well past the air dates. This is done in a variety of ways; including workshops, town hall meetings, leadership summits, exhibits, program screenings and a variety of "new media" techniques like this Arkansas PBS Engage web site. Working with willing community partners never fails to be the best way to reach out and engage so many of Arkansas's communities.
We invite you to visit this site often. Parents and kids will learn more about all the "goings on" on PBS Kids. History, nature and science buffs already know public television is their best source for cutting edge documentaries. Our arts and culture programming and special events are excellent. There's always something new relating to health care, education and public affairs on our programming schedule and special outreach events.
Most of all, please know how important it is to us that you feel free to contribute your comments and content as often as possible. We can't do it all alone, and your input will undoubtedly make these efforts more rich, exciting and complete.
