This Sunday, AETN invites you to sit back and enjoy a look at some of the nation’s most beautiful and iconic train routes around America.  We also want to reintroduce you to a star you may already know.

It all starts at 1:30 p.m., with the three-part series “All Aboard”, which sets in motion American Railroad stories that are sure to educate, entertain and delight. Drawing from historical accounts and photographic archives, each episode crosscuts with one-of-a-kind moving train images and rare photographs that follow three distinct facets of the Railroad Passenger story: the history of Locomotives, Railroad Mail Service and the Pullman Sleeper story.

Next, at 3 p.m., “Celebrating North America’s Steam Railways” explores the impact the steam engine had on North America by visiting 17 of the continent's most historic and scenic tourist steam railroads. This special takes viewers from the frozen tundra of Alaska to the vast high desert of Arizona and from the rolling hills of New Hampshire and the Black Hills of South Dakota to the prairies and vast mountain ranges of Canada.

And finally, at 5 p.m., AETN brings you the premier of “The Sierra #3 Locomotive: A Star Is Reborn.” Over a 90-year span, the legendary Sierra 3 locomotive appeared in more than 100 movies and television productions, including the iconic Westerns “The Virginian,” “High Noon,” “Unforgiven” and countless others. In its heyday, the oil-burning locomotive crisscrossed the country delivering lumber, but it eventually fell into disrepair, gathering dust and rust in a California rail yard. This documentary chronicles the restoration of one of the oldest operating steam locomotives in the United States and the story of the passionate restorers committed to bringing it back to life.

Trains, trains, and more trains! - all from 1:30-6 p.m., this Sunday on AETN!
