Congratulations to Springdale’s Sojas Wagle, who placed third in the 2015 National Geographic Bee! Sojas is an eighth grader at Southwest Junior High and represented Arkansas in last week’s national competition, which broadcasted on AETN Sunday, May 17.

Meet Sojas and hear how, if he could select one superpower, he’d use it to solve one global and community issue. It’s incredibly powerful!

The National Geographic Bee is a contest designed to inspire students to be curious about the world. Schools with students in grades four through eight are eligible for the entertaining and challenging competition, and each year thousands of schools in the United States participate in the competition.

Winners from school bees compete in the state level competition portion of the National Geographic Bee in every state and the District of Columbia. Then, the 51 state champs, as well as champions from the United States Territories and Department of Defense school, compete in the national championship at National Geographic headquarters in Washington D.C.
