Portfolio Day brings more than 10 colleges and Arkansas art students together in Conway where high school students intending to pursue a degree in the arts can showcase their work to colleges in the region to discuss programs and potential scholarships. The event will be Saturday, Nov. 19, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at AETN, 350 South Donaghey Avenue, Conway.
Colleges and universities participating include: Arkansas State University, Harding University, Henderson State University, Kansas City Art Institute, Lyon College, Memphis College of Art, Ouachita Baptist University, Pulaski Technical College, Southern Arkansas University, University of Arkansas, University of Arkansas at Little Rock, University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and University of Central Arkansas.
Students are encouraged to select 10 to 15 pieces of their best work, using slides or photographs to show large two and three-dimensional and/or sculptural pieces. Beginning at 9:30 a.m., they will be able to meet with as many representatives as they choose. Students should be able to discuss the techniques and media they have used, as well as what influenced their creative processes.
