Join us to honor the service and sacrifice of our men and women in uniform this Memorial Day Weekend. On Sunday, May 28, we’re proud to share a special programming that explores and celebrates our nation’s military history and the many who have given their all to serve our country.

Featured programming includes:

“Pearl Harbor: Into the Arizona,” 12:30 p.m.

Join the first expedition to explore inside the USS Arizona since the date that will live in infamy. This hour-long special explores how state-of-the-art imaging technology reveals the aftermath and incredible story of the Pearl Harbor attack.

“D-Day: Over Normandy,” 1:30 p.m.

See some of the most spectacular scenes of the D-Day landing beaches and view some of the most iconic locations in Normandy captured by one of France’s top aerial drone camera companies. The documentary provides an incredible experience by combining modern-day captures with archival footage from June 6, 1944.

“The Last Ring Home,” 2:30 p.m.

Hear the story of Lt. Minter Dail and his 1932 Annapolis Naval Academy ring that miraculously made its way home 17 years after he was killed as a POW of the Japanese in World War II. The documentary is a spellbinding account of one man’s obsession with a family mystery and is the product of decades of research and inquiries.

“In Their Words: A Veteran’s Tribute Tour,” 3 p.m.

In June of 2007, 45 World War II veterans were escorted by AETN to visit the National World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. The veterans exerpiences touring the nation’s capitol and their reflections on the war years make up a 90-minute film that was 59 years in the making.

“National Memorial Day Concert,” 7 and 9 p.m.

Join co-hosts Joe Mantegna and Lawrence Fishburne for the annual special broadcast on this night of remembrance honoring the service and sacrifice of our men and women in uniform, their families at home and all those who have given their lives for our country.

“PBS Previews: The Vietnam War,” 8:30 p.m.

This program takes a look at the creation of the upcoming series from Ken Burns and Lynn Novick, “The Vietnam War.” Featuring interviews with the filmmakers, behind-the-scenes footage and exclusive clips from the series, this special preview will give you an advance look at this fall’s most anticipated film.
