What do you call someone who not only plays flamenco, jazz, gypsy, rumba, pop and classical guitar extraordinarily, but also works prolifically as a composer and producer? Virtuoso may be the closest definition we can find, but you don’t have to take us at our word.

Jesse Cook, widely considered one of the most influential figures in nuevo flamenco music, will be live at Conway’s Reynolds Performance Hall on Sunday, May 7. Performing as part of his “One World” Tour, Cook will feature the complex solos and melodies highlighting his diverse mix of classical, flamenco and world beat music that will transport you around the globe.

Jesse Cook One World Tour

Combining centuries-old instrumentation with a modern approach and performing style, Jesse Cook offers a musical experience like no other to guitarists and music lovers of all backgrounds. While a lifelong talent and enthusiast, Cook’s performing career didn’t emerge until he was in his 30s, when an appearance at the Catalina Jazz Festival marked a turning point in his career. Since then, Cook has recorded eight studio albums, three live DVDS and traveled the world exploring musical traditions, which he blends into his unique rumba flamenco style.

In addition to headlining concerts and festivals, Jesse Cook has toured with and opened for legends such as B.B. King, Ray Charles, Irish band The Chieftains, and Welsh soprano Charlotte Church. Cook’s music has also been featured on a variety of television shows and at several Olympic Games. His PBS specials, “Jesse Cook: Live in Concert” and “Jesse Cook: Live at Bathurst Street Theatre” have aired broadly across the nation and on AETN.
