For all you guitar players out there, if you haven't heard of Tommy Emmanuel, you've had your head stuck in your sound hole!

Tommy Emmanuel is an Australian guitarist, best known for his complex fingerpicking style, energetic performances and the use of percussive effects on the guitar.  He is one of four CGPs (Certified Guitar Player) handed the award by numero-uno Chet Atkins.  He was considered a child prodigy, playing guitar since age 4, and had an amazing career as a session musician in Australia. He finally had a chance to work with Chet Atkins and the two cut a Grammy nominated album in 1996 with "The Day the Finger Pickers Took Over the World." That's the short version. Go to his Web site www.tommyemmanuel.com to find more on this incredible musician.

Be sure to watch “Tommy Emmanuel & Friends: Live from the Balboa Theatre” Saturday, August 13, at 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. and also Sunday, August 14 at 8 p.m.

Come see Tommy in person at UCA in Conway October 6.  Click here to learn more and order tickets.
