December “Agri Arkansas” Explores Dairy in the Natural State

In this month’s episode of “Agri Arkansas,” learn how the dairy industry operates in the state from a variety of perspectives in the premiere on Sunday, Dec. 28, at 1 p.m.




We’ll begin with a look at commercial dairy farming. Once big business, operations in the Natural State have declined over the past several decades. We’ll take a look at how farmers have adapted with a visit to Simon Brothers Dairy, LLC, of Conway.



Next, recent legislation that has made it legal to sell raw milk in Arkansas. Where can you find this product and what do you need to know before buying it? Find out with us! 


Then, we’ll visit with Kent Walker, a Little Rock based cheesemaker, to learn more about his business and craft.

Finally, we’ll round out the episode with a panel discussion - moderated by host Tony Brooks - with our tests Butch Calhoun, secretary of the Arkansas Agriculture Department, and Frederic Simon of Simon Brothers Dairy.
