In the AETN premiere of “22 Straight” at 9 p.m., we’ll relive the captivating story and meteoric rise of the University of Arkansas Razorbacks to the pinnacle of college football in the mid-1960s. The one-hour documentary starts with the team’s Nov. 23, 1963, win against Texas Tech and follows the Hogs’ gridiron journey toward the 1964 national championship and the longest winning streak of the the decade. It’s an incredible story that goes beyond the field to acquaint us with the players, staff and coach behind the legendary team’s ascent to victory.
And, of course, you can take an in-depth look at one of the Arkansas player’s astounding life in “The Jim Lindsey Story” at 8 p.m. The 30-minute documentary follows the 1964 team member through his outstanding performance for the Razorbacks, to his championship turn as Minnesota Vikings captain and beyond as a successful businessman in Arkansas and across the South.
