PBS Digital Studios

Hey, you guys! My name is Mary Kate and I am an intern at AETN in the Marketing and Outreach department for this lovely spring semester. I am currently a senior at the
University of Central Arkansas graduating in December (Yes!, light at the end of the tunnel!) with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in journalism. Through this blog, I will be exploring the world of PBS Digital Studios.
PBS Digital Studios (or PBS DS) is basically a bunch of YouTube channels created in partnership with PBS to bring educational videos about art, life, history, physics, cooking – anything you could think of, really – to life beyond the airwaves. For kids like me (i.e. high school and college students), PBS DS is especially great because the videos (since they are shared through YouTube) are accessible anytime and anywhere.
Ever felt like there are shows for adults and kids on PBS but you’re missing something in the middle for high school and college students? Well, here is my message to all high school and college students: PBS DS is not your mother’s or even your grandmother’s PBS, it’s something entirely different and new.
So, come with me on this fantastic exploration of the world of PBS Digital Studios! With the worlds of YouTube channels like
“Art Assignment,” “Crash Course” and “Blank on Blank,” I promise, you won’t be sorry.
