What’s in a name? An identity? A Mission? A Statement! A Rallying Cry! For more than 50 years AETN has been a place for every Arkansan. We have shared the untold stories of our great state, and we have brought the world home to you through the most trusted American institution – PBS.
That’s why I am proud to announce to you - our most essential and trusted partners - that our name is changing from AETN to Arkansas PBS. We hope our new name encompasses everything you’ve come to love about your public media station, along with a renewed commitment to put Arkansans and Arkansas stories first and foremost.
We will continue to be a daily and essential source of education, community connection and entertainment for Arkansans of all ages, and the new name will allow audiences to more easily identify and connect with public media in Arkansas whenever and wherever they choose; online, on-air, and via social media.
We look forward to illuminating the people, places and stories Arkansans are eager to experience through fresh, local content from The Natural State and the PBS programs you’ve trusted for decades. As Arkansas PBS, we will uncover even more stories that feed your curiosity about your home and neighbors.
What can you expect with our new brand? We have a refreshed look that aligns with PBS’s update to its national brand, which was announced in the fall, with the goal of providing a consistent viewer experience. Arkansas PBS features a cobranded logo, a bold color palette and a modern, custom typeface designed to be highly legible across platforms, from televisions to mobile devices.
The new name has been adopted across all of AETN’s channels: Arkansas PBS Create, Arkansas PBS KIDS, and Arkansas PBS WORLD. The same holds true for Arkansas PBS Passport, and Arkansas PBS LearningMedia.
While AETN has changed its name to Arkansas PBS, you can still find your favorite programs where you have always tuned-in to watch them.
Our commitment remains to Arkansans in Arkansas – that will never change. Come with us as we expand the thoughtful and thought-provoking experiences you know and trust, discover fresh perspectives, and immerse yourself in stories that illuminate and inspire. Welcome to the best of what we have always been. Welcome to Arkansas PBS.
